The circuit is gated by a positive-moving pulse applied to the input. The frequency is given by resistance (R) and capacitance (C), according to the description given in other articles in this site. Capacitance can range from 50 pF to 1,000 µF, and resistance can range between 2 kΩ and 4.7 MΩ.

The circuit is powered from 5 to 15 V supplies, and current drain without load is approx. 0.5 mA.

The gate pulse voltage shouldn't exceed the power supply voltage. Low level is 0 V. Input impedance is very high, approximately several megohm, and the output characteristics are as given in other articles using the 4093.
