This circuit was obtained from an 1974 Everyday Electronics magazine. The circuit is still current as it can be mounted with the BD135 transistor in place of the original. The critical component is the Geiger valve. The handset must be crystal or a piezoelectric capsule. Power should come from medium or large batteries as consumption is high. C4 and C5 must be polyester for 400 V or more.
