In this circuit, the current capacity doubles, but is still of the order of microamps. The operating frequency is basically determined by the 2.2 nF capacitor and the 4.7 k ohm resistor. These components can be altered to obtain the best yield. Other input voltages can be used by replacing the zener diode with one that is twice the input voltage. Diodes D1 to D3 are of type 1N4148 or equivalent.
