Combined Darlington + Power MOSFET H-bridge (MEC127E)

This article was taken from my book Robotics, Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence (sold out) published in the United States and also from previous articles in other publications, with minor updates. It shows an H-bridge combining Darlington bipolar and MOSFETs, ideal for controlling DC motors and can be used as a shield.

The circuit shown in Figure 1 combines MOSFETs with bipolar Darlington transistors. This block operates in the same manner as described for the previous block. 

The feedback resistors can have higher values in this case. The transistors can be chosen using the tables given in Section 4.5, Additional Information.
