I am retiring, but I do not intend to stop my activities in electronics. Is opening a repair shop still a good deal?

Unfortunately, this is an activity that decreases more every day. Modern electronic equipment is inexpensive and made to last a certain time, within which it is under warranty. So, when they break, it is often cheaper to buy a new, better performing, more advanced one than to repair the old one. What is still noticed are the old devices that are taken to the workshop much more for sentimental reasons and even for lack of resources than for necessity. For the repair technician, these devices can still be a source of income, but less and less. If the activity is just for the sake of staying active, not worrying about profits, and can be done at home, it is still valid. However, this activity can be complemented, and the gains can be improved with some type of additional service, such as the installation of alarms, LED lamps (replacement), doorkeepers, garage door opening systems and even computers.
