I have a project for a power supply that recommends using an LM315 regulator. However, I found an LM350 among my components. I was told it is better.

Indeed, the LM350 is an improved version of the LM317, as it can control higher current. The LM315 is designed for a current of up to 1.5A while the LM350 reaches 3A. Thus, we can perfectly exchange the LM317 for an LM350 and even increase the current. In a power source, we just need to change the transformer and rectifier diodes for higher current types.
