Can I use a 1N4148 instead of a 1N34 or 1N60?

1N4148 is a general-purpose silicon diode, while 1N34 and 1N60 are general-purpose germanium diodes. The difference is in the voltage at which the type diodes begin to conduct. Thus, in applications where a small signal detector diode is used, for example, in radio receivers, the use of the germanium type is more recommended. In applications where the signals are more intense, logic circuits, for example, we can use the silicon diode.
