I have an amplifier with an output of 8 ohm. If I connect 4 ohm speakers, will I be forcing the amplifier, a friend told me?

When we connect a speaker or speaker with the same impedance at the output of an amplifier, we have maximum power transfer. This means that the amplifier will have its maximum output, being able to deliver its maximum power, without forcing the circuits and the speakers. However we can also connect a higher impedance speaker, for example 16 ohm and still get the operation without forcing the circuit. In this case, however, the maximum output power will be lower and the amplifier will not reach its maximum output. What we can not do is plug in the output boxes or impedance speakers smaller than the 8 ohm. For example, 4 or 2 ohm will overload the amplifier circuit which may be damaged.
