Where can I get an integrated circuit equivalency manual?

An integrated circuit is not a simple component, but as the name says, a complete circuit. Thus, there are two categories of integrated circuits today. Those with general functions such as operational amplifiers, voltage regulators, timers, simple logic functions, etc. which can be found in similar configurations from various manufacturers. For these cases, depending on the function we can find equivalents, although not always exactly the same or with the same pinning. For the others, the functions are so specific that only one manufacturer makes them, or possibly more than one, not always with the same terminal layout. In our days there are millions of different ICs which makes it very difficult to find equivalent or equivalent functions. The use of a search engine as the datasheets of this site is an exit to conduct a search.
