This circuit is from a Popular Electronics from 1993. The magazine is no longer printed, but the circuit can be implemented with BC557 transistors. The circuit includes Baxandall bass and treble control and has excellent gain. Audio input and output cables must be shielded. The supply voltage is really high due to the characteristics of the circuit, although its consumption is very low.
