This power source, obtained in a 1973 publication, suggests the use of partially burned germanium transistors as rectifiers. The unit provides approximately 9 V of output with a maximum current of 50 mA. In this case, the base-emitter junctions of old OC79 transistors were used, but other transistors can be used. The capacitor can be 470uF and the transformer has 50 mA of secondary current.
