The resistance found between the R terminals of this circuit depends on the digital programming made at the inputs A to D. The circuit, in this case, works as a resistor variable from 0 to 200k. Other resistor values can be used to scan another resistance range, if it maintains the same value ratios. In the minimum resistance, given the characteristics of the integrated circuit, we do not have 0 ohms, but approximately 150 ohms in the case of 4066 and a little more for 4016. The circuit works as a potentiometer with a resolution of 4 bits. Two similar circuits, with increased resistances for the second, can result in an 8-bit resolution potentiometer.
