This circuit was found in a 1967 publication, but it can be assembled with a 2N2646 and any triac of the TIC series. T1 is a trip transformer with a 1: 1 turn ratio. CR5 is a 12 V zener diode and has an NTC of 10 to 20 k resistance at room temperature. The triac must have a heat radiator. The bridge diodes can be 1N4004.
