We found this circuit in a 1982 publication. This source allows an adjustment of the output voltage, depending on the type of load fed, in a different way: by the voltage applied to the primary of the transformer. It is basically a "dimmer" or "variac" with triac in which the power applied to the transformer is adjusted and with it its output voltage, which after being rectified and filtered can be used in various applications. See the reader that the fact that the voltage is regulated in the primary eliminates the need for regulation in the secondary circuit. For the experimenter's bench this is a source that can be very useful.
