The two circuits we suggest are from the book Optoeletronics - Theory and Practice by Texas Instruments, which in addition to excellent basic information on optoelectronics also brings many practical circuits. The first circuit, shown in figure 1, uses a Darlington transistor of type TIP110, having the base of the phototransistor TIL81.
