With a light pulse on the Q1 sensor the circuit turns on and locks. To switch off, a light pulse must be sent to the Q2 sensor. This circuit is powered by 6 V, but the K1 relay must be 5 V, as there is a voltage drop to be compensated in its trip, which occurs in the SCR.
