A girator reverses the impedance of a signal. Thus, a low impedance signal at the input appears as high at the output and vice versa. An input short will be seen as an open circuit at the output. The circuit shown is old and makes use of those operating at the time. Modern operating systems can be used, and the font must be symmetrical.
