This integrated circuit made it possible to build simple radios with few external components. It had several high-gain FET stages that could drive a headset or an amplifier stage. The article showing its launch in the United States was published in the October 1973 issue of Radio Electronics magazine. The diagram of this IC is shown in the figure.
