The S-meter is signal strength meter, coupled to telecommunications receivers to indicate the signal strength of the receiving station. This circuit uses a 0-1 mA indicator and the adjustment is done by R6 - 47k. The transistors are BC558 and the circuit is battery powered. R1 is 10k and R2 / R3 is 22k. R4 and R5 are 10k resistors. The circuit is connected to the receiver detector. The circuit is from a publication of the 70's. The power is made with 3 V.
