“I have a high-impedance headset that I want to use on a low-impedance stereo output circuit. How can I do this?"

 

A small transformer of the type found in transistor radios can be used. These transformers have primaries from 500 ohms to 2k that can be used with headphones of even higher impedances. The secondary is usually 3 to 8ohm so it is convenient to use a resistor in series, as shown in the figure.
