“I intend to use LoRa (LongRange) technology to transmit signals from a small camera. The distance is in the order of 500 meters. I was told that it is not possible. Truth?"

The range of plates with LoRa technology can reach several kilometers, but it depends on the propagation conditions. The presence of trees with a high degree of humidity, buildings and other obstacles greatly limits the reach, but this is not the main problem. To obtain greater reach, the bandwidth is narrowed and with this there is a proportional decrease in the data rate that can be transmitted. Thus, in unfavorable conditions, greater range, obstacles, etc. it can be limited to a few tens’ bytes per second or even a few bytes. An image could not be transmitted in real time, as it requires rates of megabytes or tens of megabytes. Even the sound of a recording does not support this technology in some cases. It must be used to send numeric data from sensors, for example, which consist of a few bytes and even yes, at intervals that are more widely spaced the greater the difficulty in transmission.
