I have several devices that remain constantly connected to the mains power in the stand-by function, so that they can be connected by the remote control at any time. Do not these appliances represent a good increase in the energy bill?

Not really, as they are usually designed to have very low power consumption (less than 0.01 W normally) in this function, which does not cause a visible increase in the bill. For example, to consume 1 kW more in the account, something around $ 0.50, such a device would need to stay on for 100,000 hours or more than 4,000 days (over 10 years!). So do not worry about them. Just unplug them from the outlet when traveling or when leaving them for long unused, plus to protect from outbreaks that may occur during storms, which could cause them to burn.
