“Can not find an integrated circuit of a certain type? How do I find an equivalent and thus complete my project?”

Integrated circuits are complex configurations and in rare cases there are equivalents. What may occur is that several manufacturers make the same integrated circuit but using denominations that try to identify its origin. For example, we can find the operational amplifier 741 as uA741, LM741, NE741, etc. However, for integrated circuits that are not commonly used, it is very difficult to find equivalents. Only for general functions such as operational amplifiers, voltage regulators, amplifier circuits is there still a chance and even then we must be careful because the "equivalent" may have a different terminal arrangement, a different power range, etc.
