This VCO or Voltage Controlled Oscillator was found in a Popular Electronics from 1991 but can be easily implemented with a BF245 instead of the MPF102. The central frequency of the oscillator is given by C1, which can be changed over a wide range of values. The circuit is CMOS and can be powered by voltages from 3 to 12 V. The signal generated is reproduced on a transducer but can be used on an external circuit. The maximum frequency obtained is in the order of a few megahertz.
