This simple binary counter triggers two LEDs according to the number of pulses applied to the input. The circuit is from a documentation from the 1977 Radio Shack chain of stores. The indicated supply is 6 V, but it is better to use 5 V, which is the normal supply voltage for TTL circuits. The circuit can be expanded to count 4 or more bits.
