This interesting circuit provides an output proportional to the input voltage, regardless of its polarity and, in addition, it has a second output for indicating polarity. The base is the LM101A and the circuit is shown in the figure. The gain depends on the R1 / R2 ratio, according to the formula given next to the diagram. The other resistors must maintain the ratio, also indicated in the diagram. The choice of resistors will depend on the amplitude of the signal you intend to work with.
