This timer was found in the Texas Instruments 1996 linear applications manual. The relay must be of the sensitive type and the diodes at the output protect the integrated against the switching pulses of the relay. The time depends on the 10 uF capacitor which can be increased to obtain long timings. In the original application, the circuit was suggested for photo development darkrooms.
