The formulas given in this section are used to calculate the total length of a half-wave dipole as a function of the operation frequency.

Formula 1

L = λ / 2

Where:

L is the antenna´s length in meters (m)

λ is the wavelength in meters (m)

Formula 2

L = 150.000.000 / f

Where:

L is the antenna´s length in meters (m)

f is the frequency in hertz (Hz)

Application Example:

Calculate the total length of a half-wavedipole CUT to operate in a frequency of 30 MHz.

Data:

f = 60 MHz = 60 000 000

L = ?

Applying formula 2:

L = 150.000.000 / 60.000.000

L = 2,5 metros
