This circuit activates an incandescent garden, balcony or showcase lamp when it gets dark, turning it off at dawn. This circuit is from a 1998 publication and only works with this type of lamp. The triac must be equipped with a small heat sink and 220 V triacs can be used if the supply is made with this voltage, increasing the wire resistor to 4k7.
