In this circuit the photo-transistor signal is amplified by a Darlington step and then applied to a trigger step that controls a relay. The relay trips when the sensor is illuminated. The sensor can be any ordinary photo-transistor and the relay is a 12 V voltage sensitive type with a 220 ohm coil. Circuit sensitivity is determined by setting the 100 k ohm trimpot.
