This circuit produces an intermittent sound in a ceramic piezoelectric transducer, for example, a simple capsule that does not have an oscillator. Capacitors can be changed to modify the sound. The circuit works with voltages from 3 to 15 V. The capacitor indicated in the original 2001 circuit as 46 uF, in fact, is 47 nF.
